Alexis Dillon Alexis has been a photographer for 20 years specializing in black and white infrared images. She uses a variety of formats -- 35 mm, 2-1/4, 4"x5" view camera -- and often handcolors her images. Her interest in recording both the visible and invisible is made possible using infrared film and special filters.

Named Photographer of the Year in '92 and '97 by the Westmoreland Arts and Heritage Festival, Alexis has also received honors among which are SW Penna. Juried Art Exhibit, Westmoreland Art Nationals and New Growth Festival. A body of her work was exhibited in solo shows at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and Calif. University of Penna. Other venues have been the Carnegie, Southern Alleghenies Museum and Three Rivers Arts Festival.

A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Ms. Dillon is a Visual Arts and Photography instructor at Hempfield Area High School. She is a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and the Silver Eye Center for Photography.
