Betty Reese has been active in the visual arts since school days in Tyrone, PA. After majoring in art at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (then Indiana State Teachers College), she taught in the Pittsburgh and the Hempfield Area Public Schools. Pastels, oils, and serigraphy are currently Betty's main artistic focuses. She has exhibited in many juried group shows, solo exhibits, and at galleries throughout the Western PA area. Her introspective works, with strong use of color and space, are well known in the region. Recent works include a 'Pittsburgh Landmarks' series published by Signiture Art Company. Betty enjoys teaching, personal art, and family life with her husband, Alan, three children, and four grandchildren. A member of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, Betty is also active at the Greensburg Art Club where she has taught classes and served as vice-president, secretary, and Open Studio Monitor.
