Jan Sabatos
Jan holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Indiana University
of Pennsylvania. She has studied with ten nationally known watercolor
painters, holds memberships in the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, the Pennsylvania
Watercolor Society, the Baltimore Watercolor Society, Greensburg Art Club,
Latrobe Art League and WATERCOLORS Gallery. She has exhibited in numerous
national juried exhibitions and received awards in many. Of her work, she
states, “Using a palette of primary colors, my watercolors are painted
from a still life or directly from nature. I paint freely, with very
little preliminary sketching, allowing the natural flow of watercolor to
become an integral part of the finished work. I find pleasure in
this approach and particularly enjoy the spontaneity it affords.”
